Why We Built This Site
South Carolina makes many criminal-record sources public, yet no single office holds the full story. The Chesterfield County sheriff creates or keeps sheriff incident and booking material. Courts preserve charges, docket events, and dispositions. South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Criminal Justice Information Services, maintains the statewide criminal-history repository, while corrections and the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry serve other purposes. The site brings the verified request routes, costs, portals, and agency contacts into a clear local reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Local contacts: where Chesterfield County sheriff, court, and state record channels begin
- Record instructions: how to search and read court case records
- State checks: how SLED name and authorized fingerprint processes differ
- Record relief: where South Carolina expungement rules and filing paths apply
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, with no connection to a South Carolina court, sheriff, police department, or state office. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the sheriff, the court, or South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. This resource can identify the office but cannot issue the record.
Search Partners
Outside providers power some search boxes. They control their prices, services, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports the site's operation. Chesterfield County Criminal History does not control a partner's charge or the content it returns.
