Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of Chesterfield County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search function signals acceptance of the terms below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, state, or federal agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or any other Fair Credit Reporting Act purpose. The resource helps people locate criminal-record channels in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government ties. It does not store official criminal files, obtain records for users, perform official checks, or file paperwork.

Its function is to identify custodians of Chesterfield County criminal records, including the sheriff, criminal courts, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division repository, and South Carolina Sex Offender Registry, and to link to outside research tools. Official access is subject to the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code Title 30, Chapter 4, and SLED criminal-history dissemination provisions in §23-3-115.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool must not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Such conduct may be criminal. South Carolina law places special limits on misuse of South Carolina Sex Offender Registry data. The registry supports public-safety awareness, not vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If a lawful purpose requires a background check, obtain an official check through South Carolina Law Enforcement Division or an FCRA-compliant screening company.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing here is legal advice. General descriptions of Chesterfield County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to one person. Consult a licensed South Carolina attorney for advice.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges may be filed, dismissed, sealed, or expunged, so criminal records can change. Gaps and delays are possible. No content here is an official statement from a court, sheriff, or public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to sheriff pages, court portals, South Carolina agencies, legal-aid groups, and outside search services. Those destinations are beyond our control. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, fees, or availability. Review their terms before use.
