This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.
Need an Official Record?
Use these official channels for commonly requested Chesterfield County records:
- Sheriff incident and administrative records: Admin & Records Division, 203 Watson Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709; 843-623-2101; Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- General Sessions and Circuit Court files: Chesterfield County Clerk of Court, 200 West Main Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709; 843-623-2574; Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Very recent arrest inquiries: Chesterfield County Detention Center, 319 Goodale Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709; call 843-623-3385 for a possible arrest within the preceding 12 hours
- Detention center Bond Court: call 843-623-2261; use this purpose-specific number for bond-court matters rather than the recent-booking line
- State criminal-history reports: use South Carolina Law Enforcement Division CATCH for the statewide repository product
- Police reports: ask the municipal or state agency that created the report, since the sheriff is not the custodian of every city police file
The sheriff's official Admin & Records Division also provides an online contact form and a separate incident-report request form. The Clerk of Court is the official route for court filings, while the detention center numbers are divided by purpose. Calling the right line first avoids sending a court-file request to Watson Street or a recent-booking question to the courthouse.
